Who we are
Sport for Brains is a unit within the Elsass Foundation. Our job is to provide opportunities for people with cerebral palsy to join sports clubs or other group-based activities. The idea is to integrate people with cerebral palsy in sports organisations and sports clubs, but for them to compete, play and exercise on their own terms.
What we do
We facilitate the integration of people with cerebral palsy in sports organisations and sports clubs. Doing so, we make possible that more people with cerebral palsy are exercising, having fun on their own terms and experience social interaction. Also we have developed a camp concept for people with cerebral palsy. The core of our camps constitutes that people with cerebral palsy may challenge the way they think about themselves, their body awareness and their physical limitations. Attending a camp creates an experience of a high boost in self-esteem, a great sense of accomplishment and being socially integrated with others that are faced with the same challenges in everyday life.
