Visuomotor modifications during gait
Gait in a natural environment involves proactive visually guided modifications of the gait pattern. These modifications include adjustment of gait speed and ensuring precise foot placement when walking in uneven terrain.
The project is part of a three-year Phd aiming to investigate physiological, cognitive, and behavioral strategies when executing common, yet complex, gait modifications. Furthermore, the project aims to uncover age-related differences in the ability to learn these skills in children and adults with and without cerebral palsy (CP).
