Welfare technology and participation
In close collaboration with individuals with cerebral palsy (CP), their relatives, and professional stakeholders, we are committed to improving quality of life through innovative welfare technology solutions. We do this by using welfare technology to bridge the gap between what a person can do and what they aspire to do.
Since 2023, the Elsass Foundation has intensified its focus on the potential of welfare technology to enhance the quality of life for people with CP. Research shows that welfare technology can be a key catalyst for improved functional abilities, increased physical activity, and greater participation, whether in personal achievements, social activities, or rehabilitation.
We are dedicated to ensuring that the potential of welfare technology translates into everyday improvements through four key focus areas:
- Increased access to meaningful activities and valuable environments: We use technology as a springboard to create more opportunities for participation based on user needs.
- Greater participation in social communities: We aim to strengthen networks and social connections for individuals with CP.
- Overcoming existing barriers: We support that the welfare technology solutions reach the right hands.
- Support for research projects: We help ensure that valuable research findings reach people’s daily lives.
To create real impact in these areas, it is essential that development, initiatives, and implementation take place in close collaboration with individuals with CP, their relatives, and professionals. We achieve this through user involvement, interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration, and the development of strong networks both nationally and internationally. This ensures that the latest technologies and trends quickly benefit those who need support the most.
