The Elsass Foundation Research Prize

Every second year The Elsass Foundation acknowledges a researcher, who is making a significant impact in the field of cerebral palsy.

The Elsass Foundation Research Prize is founded and given for the first time on the 20th of November 2019. Once every second year it will be awarded by the protector of the Elsass Foundation, HRH Princess Benedikte at the foundations premises in Charlottenlund, Denmark.

The Elsass Foundation Research Prize recognizes researchers, who have made a particularly significant effort developing new methods or knowledge within the field of cerebral palsy (CP) including all aspects of human functions; somatic, cognitive, social and psychological conditions.

The prize is 1.000.000 dkr. (approximately 150.000 €). It is a combined personal prize of 250.000 dkr. (37.500 €) and a prize of 750.000 dkr. (112.500 €) given in order to perform a new research project developing more knowledge and expertise in the CP-field.

The prize is given to one person preferably, though can be shared by several. Nominations of candidates with a background in basic as well as clinical research and with any professional background are welcome.

Selection Commitee

The members of the committee are appointed among the highest possible level of expertise within the field of CP in terms of scientific merit, recognition and knowledge.

In 2019 the committee comprises:

• Roslyn Boyd, professor, Australia
• Giovanni Cioni, professor, Italy
